Udta Punjab movie Review

Star cast: Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh
Rating: 4/5
Genre: crime
Duration: 2 hours 28 minutes
Direction: Abhisek Chaubey

Story Plot:
There's this struggling Bihari migrant, Kumari Pinky (aka Alia Bhatt) at the start of the movie working in a field and then a flying pouch of heroin lands on to her through a discuss throw. Now she turns into a drug addict. Well the protagonists' life are not very much inter-connected in the movie. And then there is tattooed-gun-totting Tommy Singh (aka Shahid Kapoor). A dwelling rockstar among the present day teen, who is also a drug addict. When a sikh sub-inspecter Sartaj Singh (aka Diljit Dosanjh) who fights against the increasing drug abuse in Punjab. What lead him to that? He saw his own brother becoming a victim to it. Then we have Preet Sahani (aka Kareena Kapoor) a doctor running an anti-drugs centre who is also working on omitting the fact from the society. Actually, the 'lassi' and 'sarson k khet' wala Punjab is not how we see it. The land of five rivers is a place ruled over by cartels, heroins, cocaine and corrupt cops. Yes from cops, this comes in, the corrupt cops are the ones nurturing the use of drugs in the state, obviously, they allow them in and out of drugs with exchange of huge capital.

Review:
A world you may not be inhabiting, but you definitely cannot ignore. Audience can take a ride through the present day scene of Punjab. Shahid, obvio is a cherry to the pie. He has done a awesome work. Trolling and tossing today's generation. Alia became a heart-catcher with her eye-popping slangs. She has very well showcased the fact that she has been abused and miss-treated. Infact, even she was into drugs. Watching the movie you can actually get teary eyed for once at Shahid and Alia's poor plight. The songs all match the plot. Kareena's attempt to omit the ill-fact for the society was commendable. And between the trail of 'ghush-khor' cops Diljit has done a awesome job. The fact that his very own brother was a victim to drugs and was nearing to death made him stand stronger against the notion. Chaubey has done as awesome drama job with Alia and Shahid's dialogue delivery. A lot and lot of dialogues are in Punjabi but the subtitles are there at your rescue. Diljit's first hindi movie has encarved impressions. Yes! The liberal use of slangs may be unhearable for some people, else, you can concentrate more on the cause. So, i would suggest you to definitely watch this flick, because there is no reason not to.

Housefull 3 movie review

Star Cast: Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandaz, Nargis Fakhri, Lisa Haydon, Boman Irani, Jackie Shroff
Rating: 3/5
Genre: Comedy
Duration: 2 hrs 15 mins
Direction: Sajid-Farhad

Story Plot:
The plot  revolves around a london-based, gujju shipping magnate, Batook Patel (aka Boman Irani) has three daughters Gracy (aka Jacqueline Fernandez), Sarah (aka Nargis Fakhri) and Jenny (aka Lisa Haydon). He loved his daughters so much that his endless love for them didnt let him marry them.
But there come the grooms, his daughters' boyfriends Sandy and Sundi (aka akshay kumar), Bunty (aka Abhishek Bachchan) and Teddy (aka Riteish Desmukh). To impress their girl's father Sandy acts paraplegic, Bunty acts sightless and Teddy acts mute.

Review:
Well, its the third offering in franchise of the senseless, by the witness, for the brainless.
Another slapstick comedy in the row. The story is so convulated that it will make Shakespeare turn his grave. Actually there's no story, that's a demerit. Obviously, Akshay Kumar the sarcasm king steals the show. Then Abhishek and riteish have followed his footsteps. The housefull's tradition of lowbrow humour continues in this movie with sexist and racist jokes. Comic timing is exceptionally commendable. Jacqueline stands out the most among the leading ladies. The "ma-behen" hindi translation by the ladies just make you go LMAO. And Sajid-Farhad have ensured that the film stays very faithful to the genre. But! The songs literally test your patience. They are really pitiful and worth closing your ears. Otherwise, masses and classes have gone gaga over the movie. So, its a must watch if you wanna go ROFL n LOL this time. Overall it has all elements to get success at the box office.

X-Men: Apocalypse movie review

Star Cast: James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Sophie Turner, Rose Byrne, Channing Tatum, Evan Peters, Nicholas Hout, Oscar Isaac, Olivia Munn

Rating: 3.0/5 (Adventure, 2h 25m)

Director: Bryan Singer

Story Plot:
After sleeping for nearly a millennium, the world's first mutant Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) comes back to life. He is not at all pleased with the turn of events over the last few centuries. Since he can switch bodies and imbibe fresh powers, he decides to take things in his hands. As he builds his army of four horsemen, Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and his students are faced with the cumbersome task of stopping the evil force that will end the world as they know it.

Review:
The first hour of the movie is an awesome thrill. After sleeping for nearly a millennium, the world's first mutant Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) comes back to life. He is utterly displeased with the turn of events over the last few centuries. Since he can change bodies and imbibe fresh powers, he decides to take things in his hands. As he builds his army of four horsemen, Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and his students are faced with the cumbersome task of stopping the evil force that will end the world as they know it. I’m also not convinced Apocalypse works as an isolated piece of storytelling. Honestly, we’ve accepted the fact that the X-Men series won’t be ending any time soon, so the least Singer could have done was to treat Apocalypse as a stand-alone movie, and not just another in the assembly line. It hurts the very foundations of the genre he helped build. Bryan Singer returns to some of his old favourites: Holocaust imagery, allegory for LGBT people, but it was done so much better in X-2 and First Class. The series was always about the outcasts, the misfits, the ones beaten down. It’s unfortunate then that Apocalypse spends so much of its time trying to fit in.

Sarbjit movie review

Rating: 3.5/5 (Biopic, 2h 11m, UA)

Star Cast: Randeep Hooda, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadda, Shiwani Saini, Ankita Shrivastava

Director: Omung Kumar

Sarbjit is a sloppy flick full of all emotional, heart breaking, getting you teary-eyed all the time movie.

Story Plot:
Plot revolves around the protagonist, Sarbjit Singh Attwall (aka Randeep Hooda), a farmer living in a Punjab village close to the Indo-Pak border. He got drunk one night and singing the song 'Jai Jai Shiv Shankar', got himself tossed over the line of border. Obviously, he was grabbed by the Pakistani patrol. He was imprisoned, in a box full of water and rats for months, limbs and hands bruised and he was hung upside down, till bloody. He was forced day and night to confess that he is 'Ranjit', an Indian accused of terrorism in Pakistan. While, Sarbjit struggles out there in Pakistan, Dalbir Kaur (aka Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) his courageous sister who is very protective about her brother holds up weapons to fight a dogged battle for him. She puts in all her guts to free her brother and prove him innocent. Sarbjit has other family members i.e. an old father and his wife Sukh (aka Richa Chadda). Dalbir's appeal on both sides of the borders falls out to deaf ears and uncared. She makes people in mass understand her point, but all in vain. Then after 18 years of wait Sarbjit could meet his family. He died rotting in Pakistan.

Review:
The tagline of the story is the horror of a human force to suffer physically and mentally. He was tortured and used as a political bait between India-Pakistan's see-sawing relations. The ill-treatment given to Sarbjit makes you cry forcibly throughout without actually feeling. Aishwarya's high-pitch makes you cover your ears; she has imparted an overdose of throat bombing. Richa Chadda, an excellent actor, has not been brought up to the limelight, much often. She just has two and a half scenes. Randeep Hooda is the only thing worth watching in the movie. The movie concludes that human may come and go but humanity must prevail. The movie is a must watch if you are an Aishwarya fan.

Azhar movie review

Rating: 3.5 (Drama /2 h 11 min/ UA)

Star Cast:
Emraan Hashmi, Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri, Lara Dutta, Gautam Gulati, Kunal Roy kapur, Karanvir Singh and Manjot Singh

Director:  Tony D'Souza

Well the movie combines India’s two hot and happening topics
i.e. movies and cricket. And! It is said to be a bio-pic while it is
not.

 STORY PLOT:
The story plot revolves around a Hyderabad lad Mohammad Azharuddin (Emraan Hashmi) who is an idol cricketer in the 80-90s. He has been one of the most controversial indian cricket captains.
He was an awesome batsman as well as skipper. Azhar’s grandfather (kulbhushan Kharbanda) had seen a dream for him that he would play 100 matches, a dream which was broken at 99 tests. Azhar is all messed up with is love and marital life.A laughable thing in the life of such a renowned cricketer his first wife Naureen(Prachi Desai), rouge and distressed does not have any idea about his second wife, film industry’s charm,Sangeeta (Nargis Fakhri). And an icing on the top, the man claims to love both of them equally. Then the so called cricketer’s thing happens and Azhar gets into match fixing. He got trapped. Obviously he was allowed for legal recourse.Courtroom drama takes place. At some point of time the court did overturn the ban but it was too late until then. His dream of playing 100 matches remained unfulfilled and the skipper was banned after 99 tests.Other two characters Lara Dutta as the lawyer of cricket council and reddy (kunal), who fought the case from Azhar’s side are a oomph to the movie. He does makes other cricketer friends, who don’t turn out at the end when he needed them.

REVIEW:
Ofcourse like every other Bollywood movie there’s a lot of masala added to the bio-pic. Oops! Its not a bio-pic. It’s a clash of Azhar’s shy nature and the romanticist of B-town. Gangsters have awesomely done their part in the 131 minute ride. The director Tony D’ Souza has over-dramatised the movie giving the scandal a spin that gives the movie an interesting watch. The dialogue writer Rajat Arora wants to make us believe that there is much more than philandering, spendthrift image behind the introvert skipper. The movie’s filled up with all living room and court room to and fros. The songs are awesome and worth listening. The two heart-throbbing singers Arijit Singh and Armaan Malik have done their magic with the songs ‘Bol do na zara’ and ‘Itni si baat h’. All in all, the movie is a lavishing cocktail, which you wouldn’t want to put down without giving a try.
You should watch this movie for Azhar.

Baaghi Movie Review

Rating;3/5
Cast: Tiger Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor, Sudheer Babu, Sunil Grover, Sanjay Mishra,
          Maaster Shifuj, Shaurya Bhardwaj
Director:  Sabbir Khan
               2 h 16 min / UA
Baaghi is literally all action stuffed together, like sardines packed in a can. The action viewed is awesome and exquisite. Even the location and the landscapes chosen are awesome, especially the one chosen for the song “Sab Tera”. Apart from the action, the little bit of comedy used was PERFECT.

STORY PLOT:

The story plot begins with a gangste.er Raghav Shetty (Sudheer Babu) searching for Sia Khurana (Shraddha Kapoor), most probably his ‘love at first sight’ girl. Although the money shot of the movie comes in when Ronnie  (Tiger Shroff), a martial arts expert is sighted standing upside down on his thumb and forefinger. Then, as Sia was actress under a certain south indian movie director and they were in the middle of the shooting of a movie, when Sia was picked by Raghav to Bangkok, rather kidnapped. So, Ronnie was appointed by the director to rescue Sia so that he could complete the shooting. After denying once Ronnie excepts the offer in exchange of money. Then Ronnie and Sia are shown to have a bitter past. AND a heart soothing flashback starts.

Kollam junction in Kerala is shown, Sia is sitting in the train window seat. Comedian Sunil Grover played the role of Sia’s father. In the station Sia met Ronnie and both of them have a sweet bitter argument. Then, as the train had broken down in the station the goon Raghav , A martial arts champion then was made to wait in the VIP room of the station. And then it rained and as Sia had inborn love for rain she danced in the rain, meanwhile both Raghav and Ronnie had a love eye on her.
Ronnie had actually come to Kerala to learn ancient martial arts, Kalaripayattu from his father’s very good friend Guruswamy. Unfortunately, Raghav was his son. Ronnie’s father’s request to Guruswamy, as read in the letter was to mould Ronnie into a perfect martial artist or better said a perfect human being as he was very juvenile in his eyes. So, then and there guruswamy  instructed Ronnie to abide by the very strict rules of the academy. He was made to work everyday. Side by side Ronnie and Sia’a love story was a blissful trail. Whenever they met, it rained and Sia slowly fell in love with him. And has the evil Raghav had an eye on Sia from the very start he searched for her using his men in Whole Kerala. Finally he found her, Bribed her greedy father with a lot of money and fixed the marriage.
One fine day Ronnie drank and came back to the academy, abused the guruji. Then he was shown the mirror of his behaviour by guruji and then he came into his senses. When asked whether he would like to continue with the training he told him that his training had not even started, then with the awesome backkicks and punchlines he was made to realise that the work he did at the academy everyday was a part if his training, infact it was the initiation. Then Sia’s Father comes to know about Ronnie and his daughter’s love affair and he asks Ronnie to forget Sia. Then together with Raghav he plots against Ronnie and proves him a badass in Sia’s eyes. As guruji, Raghav’s father was against this, Raghav kills him to get him out of his way. Ronnie gets all broken due his guruji passing away and Sia’s disbelief in him. He leaves the city. Even Sia does the same.

Then after story gets back to the current plot where in Sia is kidnapped by Raghav and Ronnie is on his way to Bangkok to rescue her. Out there in Bangkok Sia is molested and forced by Raghav to marry her. And the another to hilarious characters of the movie shukhi and his taxi driver brother-in-law come in. On ronnie’s instruction they drive him to a place where betting takes place upon boxing. HE wins a match and gets successful in his plan of reaching one of the goons of Raghav. He then finds out about his location and also collects information about his power like the imported goons he had and the power he had been able to establish and last but not the least where he had kept Sia. When Raghav takes Sia to the hospital for the treatment of a head injury that Sia got while fighting with Raghav’s men, Ronnie runs out with her from the hospital. Then misunderstandings get cleared out between them and a blissful romantic moment takes place. Again like in every Bollywood movie the bad guys appear and hamper the romance, hit Ronnie badly and kill him. Back in Bangkok Raghav gets ready to marry SIA, when she gets the vibes that Ronnie still is alive. And like their first meeting it rains and Ronnie enters Raghav’s apartment and floor by floor finishes off everyone rescues Sia and gets back to Kerala and reopens the academy paying homage to his guru. Therefore, it ended on a happy note.

REVIEW:

All in all the movie was an empty action packed drama. Not worthy to waste your weekend watching it.  The action choreography was actually really commendable. Shradha’s power packed punchlines at the end of the movie were commendable. She became a real time action girl. Tiger Shroff’s bronze body, six pack abs, grooving dance moves, awesome action were a eyesoother for girls around to drool over. Though he is still a newbie in his poor acting skills. The comedy part was belly jerking as well. There’s a bad example promoted or set in the movie that a father can backstab his daughter in such a ruthless way. The song “cham cham” has been choreographed perfectly. The perfect beachside has been selected for the making of the song “Sab Tera”. Kerala’s breath taking beauty has been cherished perfectly.

Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Ayub Khan

Santa Banta jokes have always been hilarious to listen since years. The two humorous characters Santa Singh and Banta Singh.Getting inspired from them the director Akashdeep Sabir has made a movie by the name of Santa Banta pvt. ltd.
Half of the movie is shooted in Punjab, actually the start while the rest is shooted in Fiji.

REVIEW:
Santa Banta pvt. ltd. is a huge reason of how the film should not be made. Because , they both being laughable characters , there's nothing to laugh at in the movie. There's not much comedy to what Santa Banta are .

A movie associated with the name of the characters Santa-Banta should have only hilarious comedy, but there's very less to comedy and more action in the movie which is not at all justified to the name.In this movie a string of talented artists have been wasted.

RATING- 4.5/5
Cast : Neel Sethi[voices], Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyong'o, Scarlett Johansson.Giancarlo Esposito, Christopher Walken, Jon Favreau, Sam Raimi

Director: Jon Favreau

STORY : Authoritative tale of a young boy brought up in The Jungle by different animals is brought to life once again on the screen in a beautiful way. Mowgli leads a happy life with a wolf led by Akela(Esposito) and Raksha(Nyong'o) until the tiger Shere Khan(Elba) enters the scene.

REVIEW:
The story of The Jungle Book will draw you into a fantasy world of wonder which we remember from childhood.
The story plays out with the various characters with the panther Bagheera's(Kingsley) help.Mowgli(Sethi) tries to stay away from Shere Khan. He also faces the dishonest python kaa(Johansson),a super-sized orangutan with a soul-singer's barione named King Louis(Walkan) hopeless to obtain the 'Red flower' and Baloo the grizly bear(Murray) .These are the main characters but you will also be excited to find a few fresher along the way as well.
It is all glamour of the 1967 film, which by itself is a must watch for any child.
And more than anything, the complicated landscaping, a brilliant camerawork and environment create a wonderful mesmerising experience.Overall this movie is enjoyable.
